Two Barnstaple women, Gemma Elen and Becky Loney of Carol Anne Jewellery in Holland Walk Barnstaple, are celebrating after gaining the internationally renowned Professional Jewellers’ Diploma this spring after completing their 18 month Jewellery Education and Training (JET) course awarded by the National Association of Goldsmiths.

The Diploma, which is split into two parts, JET 1 & 2, has over the years become a benchmark for retail jewellers in providing their staff with a professional qualification, enhancing customer service, increasing consumer confidence and providing essential product knowledge.
This year 121 candidates successfully passed the JET 2 award, and Becky was one of only 55 who gained an A grade in her final exam, whilst Gemma passed her course work with an A*.

Nicky Shopland, Sales Director of Carol Anne Jewellery, said “We at Carol Anne are extremely proud of all of our girls for their achievement and taking on the commitment of juggling work and study at the same time. We want our customers to be able to shop with piece of mind, so knowing that our staff are qualified they can be confident that the advice and service they receive at Carol Anne is correct and given in a professional manner.”

Carol Anne Jewellery is a leading independent jewellery retailer in the South West with boutiques in Barnstaple, Exeter and Taunton, having over 25 years experience in designer jewellery.
